It’s that time of the year in Austin again. Halloween is approaching and people are preparing for the holiday en mass. Stores are stocking up on candy, and parents and non-profit organizations alike are supplying kids with costumes and holding events throughout the city for the entire month. Not everything is all smiles and candy though. Some people in the Southeastern area of Austin known as Del Valle are becoming concerned with an unusual increase of mysterious activity.

Over the last two weeks, residents and passers-by have reported coming across groups of hooded individuals east of Buda on backroads and in the surrounding area of Texas State Highway 130 and 45.

Kelley’s video, which has reached nearly 500,000 views, has struck a chord with residents of Del Valle and the surrounding area. Many think the presence of these cultists raises safety concerns and should be investigated, others have become angry and say that the cultists should be sought out and dealt with, while most are scared and are warning others to venture to Eiler Rd at their own risk.

Witnesses have claimed that they’ve seen property covered in unusual symbols, groups holding torches and chanting, and have even reported being followed when they ventured too close. Most unsettling of all is a viral video of a local Austinite Clinton Kelley¬† coming across these hooded figures in the middle of a country road late at night. He states that they unexpectedly came across this group as they were driving on Eiler road, right off of Texas State Highway 45.

While residents of Del Valle and the Austin area are still unsure of how to deal with these unwelcome guests. It seems that the cultists themselves are unconcerned. In fact, it appears that they are preparing for something big. As of now, there is an event page run by an equally mysterious figure known as Guy Ganzfeld. Whoever or whatever Ganzfeld is, it seems that they are using this event to take advantage of the widespread fear that has accumulated through these recent events and turn it into an attraction.

The event page, titled The Trail of Transcendence “promises to be the most terrifyingly immersive Halloween experience this year…” but with the references about “conversions,” recruitment, and “preparation for transcendence,” one can’t help but wonder if this truly is an event made for the entertainment of the public, or something much more sinister. If none of this makes you uncomfortable, if none of this makes you scared, or if you’re just plain brave, then venture on out to 14900 Eiler Rd. in Del Valle on October 28th and test your mettle.

You might just make it out alive, or become part of the family.
